Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of all games, software, websites, services, and related digital or physical products provided or published by Bonus Stage Oy (“Bonus Stage”, “we”, “us”, “our”), including both online and offline components (“Services”).

By installing, accessing, or using any of our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

2. Scope of These Terms

These Terms apply to:

  • All Bonus Stage–published video games (PC, console, mobile, VR, etc.)
  • All related online features (multiplayer, matchmaking, leaderboards, cloud features)
  • All offline game components
  • Our website and digital platforms
  • Beta tests, demos, early access releases, and test builds
  • Physical merchandise or products connected to the Services
  • Third-party platforms (Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Epic, Apple, Google) may have their own terms that apply in addition to these Terms. In case of conflict, the platform’s rules override these Terms but only for the conflicting part.

3. License to Use the Services

Subject to these Terms, Bonus Stage grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

  • Download and install the game
  • Access and play the game offline or online
  • Use included content for personal, non-commercial purposes
  • You may not:
  • Distribute, sell, sublicense, or rent the game
  • Circumvent DRM or security features
  • Reverse engineer or modify the software unless explicitly permitted by applicable law
  • Use cheats, bots, exploits, or unauthorized automation
  • Use the Services for commercial, competitive, or broadcasting purposes without permission

4. User Accounts

Some Services require registration on our platforms or third-party platforms. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • All activity occurring under your account
  • Ensuring the information you provide is accurate and up to date

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Terms or platform rules.

5. Online Features & Connectivity

Some features require an active internet connection, including but not limited to:

  • Multiplayer modes
  • Leaderboards
  • Cloud saves
  • Updates and patches
  • Matchmaking services
  • Telemetry and crash reporting

Availability may vary by region or platform. We do not guarantee uninterrupted online service.

We may modify or discontinue online features at any time for maintenance, security, performance reasons, or at the end of a game’s lifecycle.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to engage in conduct that is harmful, illegal, abusive, or disruptive, including:

  • Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour
  • Cheating, exploiting, hacking, or modifying gameplay in unauthorized ways
  • Uploading harmful content (malware, viruses, abusive or defamatory content)
  • Impersonating Bonus Stage employees, moderators, or other players
  • Engaging in fraud, account theft, or unauthorized transactions

Violation of this section may result in suspension, bans, data resets, or account removal.

7. User-Generated Content (UGC)

Some games may allow players to create or upload content (mods, custom levels, names, images, etc.).

By submitting UGC, you:

  • Grant Bonus Stage a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable license to use, display, distribute, modify, and incorporate the content into the Services.
  • Confirm that your UGC does not infringe third-party rights or violate the law.
  • Acknowledge that we may remove or block UGC at our discretion.

We do not claim ownership over your UGC; this license merely allows us to operate the Service.

8. Updates, Patches & Changes

We may provide updates, patches, bug fixes, expansions, or changes to the Services at any time, including updates necessary for:

  • Performance improvements
  • Compatibility with new devices
  • Security fixes
  • New content or balance changes
  • Some updates may be required to continue using the Services.

We may also discontinue support for outdated hardware, operating systems, or game versions.

9. Payments, Refunds & Purchasing

Purchases made through third-party platforms (e.g., Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo eShop, Apple App Store, Google Play) are handled according to their refund and payment rules.

Bonus Stage does not control or process payment information on those platforms.

If you purchase directly from us (store.bonusstage.co or equivalent):

  • Payments are processed by secure third-party payment providers
  • You agree to provide accurate payment information
  • Refunds and returns follow applicable EU consumer law and our store policies

10. Intellectual Property Rights

All Bonus Stage games, logos, trademarks, characters, assets, software, and content are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not use our IP except as explicitly permitted in these Terms.

Any unauthorized use may result in civil and/or criminal penalties.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available.”

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Services will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Online features will always be available
  • Data, progress, or accounts will never be lost
  • The Services will be compatible with your hardware or platform forever

You use the Services at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by Finnish and EU law:

  • Bonus Stage is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Bonus Stage is not liable for loss of data, account progress, virtual items, or economic loss
  • Bonus Stage’s total liability to you will not exceed the amount you paid for the specific game or Service

Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Intentional misconduct
  • Any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Cheat, exploit, or tamper with the game
  • Engage in harmful or illegal behaviour
  • Create risk, legal exposure, or disruption to the Services

You may stop using the Services at any time.

Certain provisions continue after termination (e.g., IP rights, disclaimers, liability limits).

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Unless otherwise required by platform or consumer law:

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland
  • Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved informally
  • If unresolved, disputes may be brought before the courts of Finland

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update or revise these Terms at any time.
Significant changes will be communicated through reasonable means (e.g., website notice, platform update notes).
